The brain of Vijay Gurumoorthy, a multimillionaire entrepreneur, is forcedfully implanted into Sathya, a beggar with a troubled background, by Vijay’s business associates in order to seize control of Vijay’s assets and business. Sathya chooses to fight poverty while posing as Vijay and wants to give Vijay’s properties. This angers Vijay’s partners, who then set out to thwart Sathya’s ambitions.

Development

Following the success of Bichagadu 2 Movie iBomma, Vijay Antony intended to release a sequel in 2020. He had invited Sasi to helm the project, but he was preoccupied with other projects. As a result, Vijay Antony looked for filmmakers and decided on Priya Krishnaswamy, who had previously made the film Baaram. The movie’s first look poster of Bichagadu 2 Movie iBomma was unveiled on July 24, 2020. The cast said that the movie’s Telugu dub and working title will be Bichagadu 2. Priya Krishnaswamy, however, chose not to join the cast and crew. He requested the helm of Pichaikkaran 2 from director Ananda Krishnan in 2021 while performing in Kodiyil Oruvan. Later, Vijay Antony created the script by himself.

On September 1st, 2021, the movie’s production got underway. Bichagadu 2 Movie iBomma was filmed in Dubai, Kolkata, Georgia, Malaysia, Chennai, and Malaysia. Three of the film’s technicians were detained on December 13, 2022, for flying a drone without permission above the Chennai High Court. On January 16, 2023, the production team disclosed that Vijay Antony & Kavya Thapar were on an underwater scooters when another boat crashed with it, leaving Vijay Antony with a damaged jaw and nose. The incident occurred when they were filming the song “Kaloorum Poove” in Langkawi. Thapar had injuries to her face, forehead, and nose.

Bichagadu 2 Movie iBomma release date, which was originally set for April 14, 2023, along with dubbed versions of the movie in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, was postponed owing to a copyright violation claim. The movie was subsequently released on May 19, 2023.

Allegations of plagiarism

The producer of Aaivukkoodam, V. Rajaganapthy, filed a suit in the Madras High Court against Vijay Antony Film Corporation after the sneak peek video for Bichagadu 2 Movie iBomma was released, alleging that the plot of Pichaikkaran 2 was stolen from the plot of Aaivukkoodam. Additionally, V. Rajaganapthy asked that the movie not be released until the problem has been resolved. The court denied Rajaganapathy’s plea, finding that there is no similarity between the films other than the idea of a brain transplant, which was created in 1908 and has previously been utilised in numerous films.
